March 11, 2020

We are having an adventure, and adventures are not much fun a lot of the time.  We are getting very good at rain.  Just think that the car is a boat and we can float.  Never go anywhere without an umbrella, and never plan on dry socks.  Or shoes, or underwear, or anything else.  Reed says it is not that bad.

We got to watch a couple of cowboys try to chase down a cute little gray horse in the rain.  Actually, they are military police who ride horses.  Or in this case, try to catch a horse.  We do have fun times on the roads.

We had to trade in our little silver VW car for a red Fiat.  Reed is not fond of the Fiat.  I like it because I can find a red car easier than looking for one silver car in a parking lot full of identical silver cars.

We have been having a lot of visitors coming to see what the temple is going to look like.   It is fun to show them pictures and talk about what it will look like in two years.  Then they get their picture taken with the big, ugly tent in the background.  We give talks in church meetings, and last Sunday, one sweet guy came and told me he understood everything I said.  He said it in fairly good English, so I believed him.

The big blue bottles are like the bottles we have delivered to our apartment about twice a month .  The guy brings them on a bike  similar to this one. Works pretty well, except our dispenser is super slow, so we try to keep smaller bottles in the fridge.  Otherwise, we are standing around waiting for cups to fill while we grow old.

We do have a good time taking the elders out to lunch on their preparation day.  Below is a picture we took when six of them had lunch with us several weeks ago.  It is fun to talk to them, though they would rather speak Portuguese than English.
